His Excellency Mr. Issa AlQassis, mayor of Beit Jala city and his deputy Mr. Issa Nazzal participated in the 46th edition of “Tulip Symphony” in Pitesti, Romania which was held between the 20th and the 23rd of April 2023. 

 

 

Within the efforts of Beit Jala Municipality to plan for sustainable urban growth and through the Integrated cities and urban development project funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Ministry of Local Government through the Local Authorities Development and Lending Fund, solar panels were installed on the roof of the municipality, as this system works to generate electricity from Solar energy with a capacity of 50-60 kilowatts during the day.

This morning, Tuesday, February 22, 2022, the Municipality of Beit Jala received a high-level delegation that included Mr. Volker Oel, Deputy Head of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development for the Middle East and his companying colleagues, and Mr. Mark Engelhardt, Director of the German Development Bank KfW for the Middle East and Mr. Waddah Hamdallah, Deputy Director of the German Development Bank Kfw Middle East, and Ms. Anya Goum, Director General of the German Association for International Cooperation, and her colleague Ms. Maram Nazzal, and Mr. Mohammed Al Ramahi, Director General of the Local Development and Lending Fund for Local Authorities, and Engineer Ashraf Qurei, Technical Supervisor of the Local Development and Lending Fund for Local Authorities.

A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Municipality of Beit Jala and iFocus to create “Beit Jala 360” project using the virtual reality technology, which allows viewers from all over the world to tour virtually in the city and learn more about its most important landmarks. The team began photographing the religious, touristic and archaeological sites in addition to the main streets of Beit Jala using this modern technology to promote the city as an important touristic attraction in Palestine.

 

 

 

A reception at the Armenian convent was held on Monday 24-12-2018 with the participation of the municipal council members and the local institutions in the city.
