Within the efforts of Beit Jala Municipality to plan for sustainable urban growth and through the Integrated cities and urban development project funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Ministry of Local Government through the Local Authorities Development and Lending Fund, solar panels were installed on the roof of the municipality, as this system works to generate electricity from Solar energy with a capacity of 50-60 kilowatts during the day.

Beit Jala Municipality, in its strategic plan 2023-2026 aims to encourage the principles of green building and green clean energy generation systems in order to preserve a sustainable environment and save electricity consumption.
